Brickwork finished!

They finished the brickwork last friday.... The cladding will go over the green bit uncovered yet..

Ils ont fini de monter les briques vendredi dernier.

Les endroits "verts" qui ne sont pas recouverts, vont l'etre par des panneaux en fibre de ciment apres que le toit soit installe..

More brickwork...

It has been a slow week again... the reason given was that there is a shortage of brickies at the moment...There has been some progress though, more brickwork done.

Hopefully they keep working like last friday this coming week.

Il y a eu un peu de progres la semaine derniere, les briques montent petit a petit.

Apparemment il manque un peu de main d'oeuvre, c'est pourquoi on est un peu en retard.

Scaffolding going up ...

The scaffolding has been put up this week..and that's about it.

The windows haven't been replaced as I was told they would be 2 weeks ago!

I'm giving a call my SS tomorrow to check what's going on.

L'echafaudage est en place...

Brickwork has started !

Brickwork has started today... Here are some small videos (from an ipod!), I didn't have my camera with me... The start of the brickwork looks good (much better in real than on the video! lol)

Ils ont commence a monter les briques... Voila quelques petites videos de tres mauvaise qualite (de mon ipod), j'avais pas mon appareil photo avec moi. Ca rend mieux en vrai que sur la video je dois dire...

This is an off white mortar... Hopefully... when it dries out !!!

Les joints des briques sont censes etre blancs... On espere que la couleur blanche va apparaitre quand ca va secher!

Windows up... and bricks delivered!

We've had the bricks delivered!! Which is very good as the weather forecast for next week is good! :-)

On a recu la livraison des briques, ils pourront demarrer la pose la semaine prochaine, puisque la meteo est bonne!! :-)

The windows are being installed, only 3 to go... :-)

We have noticed 3 little problems about the windows:

- 1 Window is already broken (in the kitchen)

- 1 Window installed is not double glazed as requested

- 1 Window on the ground, about to be installed is not double glazed neither.

Les fenetres ont ete installees, il n'en manque que 3 a poser.

On a remarque 3 petits problemes par rapport aux fenetres:

- Une est cassee

- Une posee n'est pas double vitrage.

- Une au sol qui va etre posee n'est pas double vitrage.

Back to work!

The long week-end is behind, and we have the windows delivered.

They've also started to put the enviroseal foil, which will go all around the house on the 2 levels, and also under the roof.

It's been raining on and off, which doesn't help!

Les travaux ont repris.

Les fenetres ont ete livree, et vont etre posees tres bientot. C'est du double vitrage, j'ai verifie!!

Le truc vert que vous voyez, c'est une extra protection qu'on a demande... cela ameliorera un peu l'isolation en protegeant la laine de roche contre l'humidite, et evitera la condensation a l'interieur...

Il pleut pas mal en ce moment...dommage...
